I don’t think you’re in a bad situation here with an immature system. if you have algae growing, it shows you have nutrients, even if it’s testing to zero. I feel this is a positive. I would recommend tuning up your clean up crew. Algae is part of a natural system, so get some more critters...

+1 on welding supply. I used to have my kegerators tank filled at one. Once my calcium reactor gets here (3 months later, I’m not convinced that will ever happen), that’s where I’ll be filling my tank.
