Green & Pink Octospawn, Green Frogspawn, Branching (fr)hammers for trade

I’m looking to trade the below corals. I’d be interested mainly in euphyllia trades, maybe something else if I don’t have it. I’ll be at the club meet, can meet in northern Monmouth county (07724), or pick up/meet in southern ocean county (08087). Dave here is a couple pics in different...

Newbie needs help with test kit routine I can keep up with!

Once you cycled it gets easier. I only regularly test (daily) for phosphates and alk. I could probably give up phosphate testing or at least go to weekly, but a reefbot is doing it for me so I keep it going.

    Plumbing question

The 90s will slow down the time to get to syphon. Should be fine. I'd be more worried about the valve your using. Get a gate valve, it will be much easier to fine tune it.

Algae update, Alk/Ca dosing, and an eventual beer

Hey Mark, another thought. I've read about adding vinegar to raise the amount of dissolved kalk that the water can hold. I never did it because I was worried about the vinegar. You are going to be carbon dosing, which is fine if that fits into your nutrient removal schema.

    Reef Safe Air Freshener

I will use a febreeze car puck thrown on the out fan to the dehumidifier when I'm dumping the overflow container from the skimmer (usually monthly), or when I'm cleaning the skimmer cup assembly (Every six months or so thanks to a neck cleaner!). I notice no issues with my tank. I do this...

    Office Pico?

I don't think you'll have much maintenance, aside from water changes. Water changes wouldn't take much, how much water would really need to be replaced in a jar system? Even if it was a one gallon jar, you could bring a gallon a week to the office and change it out fully each week.

    Office Pico?

I thought about this for my office desk. I was concerned about the nightly cleaning crew, they use some type of chemical when dusting. The day people are great, and I could talk to them about it. The night crew is a service, they clean and dust (with some chemical) and it’s not always the...

Y you could get a couple frag tanks on there. Shallow reefs are badass.

    Stylo Death

I agree, this can be an issue. I run two reactors packed with rox carbon and change it every 3-4 weeks.

    Stylo Death

If you’re actively treating for algae with vibrant, that could maybe be contributing to it. You should read the vibrant thread on R2R, a few reefs have had an adverse effect (not me), maybe you can find someone with the same issue.

    Gotta compliment 'Vibrant'

For the amount you use, especially when maintenance dosing, the big bottle lasts a very long time.

Those phos #s are fine. That should be as close to a bullet proof coral as there is. You should post every detail you can think of. For example lights. I don’t know those lights, but if you add how high they are mounted, how deep the tank is, and where it was mounted. and someone may have a...
