So would you suggest just dropping a small pump into the frag tank and have the output of the uv go back into the frag tank? My only concern is water going through the overflow into the main sump that has not passed through the uv sterilizer and risk contaminating the main system with whatever...
Finally got the stand--on to the plumbing!
So as mentioned, I'm going to run my frag tank (all the way on the right) into the main sump and will run a UV between the frag drain and sump for when new corals come in to QT. The question is, will the gravit feed be enough or do I need to set up...
That’s a sweet setup, Dave. But I think you confirmed that my intentions (read hopes and dreams) of simply putting cheap insulation around the garage door and ceiling won’t make the garage suitable for a fish room. :(
Thinking of converting my garage to a fish room. It is south facing, so it gets real hot in the summer. In the winter, it is almost freezing. Anyone have any luck converting this space to a fish room and if so, how?
Used light, perfect for Nano tank. It is programable and has built in sunset/sunrise settings and effects such as thunderstorm and rolling clouds--$100
New Aqua C Urchin skimmer, still in box--$100
Pictures coming
I'm setting up a system where 1 sump services three different tanks. I don't want 3 different feeders. Also, i feed my fish frozen food so the atuo feeders won't help. I'm only thinking of using the auto feeders to feed corals.
As I am setting up my new system, I am intrigued about automatic feeding systems. I like the videos of using the Neptune DOS to automatically feed frozen food but don't want to spend the extra money. I have an extra Jebao sitting around and could use that but should I worry about food rotting...
I haven't had the chance to test it out yet. I am waiting for my custom stand that will house my 40g, Biocube and frag tank. My uncle, who is a high end customer cabinet builder, is putting it together as a gift so I don't have much leverage to rush it--LOL!
Just got the plans though (see...
Here is a pic of of one of the boxes for the Chinese made wave makers. They actually provide pretty decent flow and the suction cup is great. I have it sticking to my 5 gallon buckets to stir things up.
I was worried about that but the overflow is rated for 800 gph. It should be fine as long as I dial-in the return flow. I would have preferred 1 inch, but that's what you get for not double and triple checking.
