Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
if you feel like you're gonna regret it, why not just get the DOS? also, buy new unless the deal is really good but then you'll also have to take the seller's word for it. DOS aren't the most durable dosers, biggest appeal is the cohesion with the neptune controller.
I am in the LED camp as well but I myself run a hybrid set up on my main tank, 2 x XR15s, XR30 and AquaticLife 36" and 3 x XR15s with diffusors on my frag tank . Old technology doesn't necessarily mean its obsolete or it's "bad" and everything is always a case by case basis. T5s and Halides may...
check this thread out,

all blackboxs are all similar and you can usually find any 3w epistar LEDs off eBay. I suggest this is the time to buy LEDs that can blend a better spectrum compared to the stock.
I'd recommend 2 AI PrimesHD, you can usually find last gen used ones for sale that are pretty good. this will set you up for fish, lps and softies. you can add 2 more down the road and you can support SPS.
more or less the t5 bulbs will be driven with there max output that they are designed for. the issue with the cheaper fixtures is the type of ballast they use, instant start or programmed start. instant start ballast have a reputation of shocking the bulbs which lead to a shorter life span...
see what those cuc additions do to the algae. I would just clean the glass during this time. if the algae gets out of control do some manual cleaning but see how the cuc handles it first l.
mostly just repeated want @DangerDave and @Mrx7899x said with a little more details? I think it just got lost with the talk of light intensity. zoa's don't need that much par and an easy way to recognize that is if the bases are stretching out. if they are not and the zoas are open, they are...
Just seeing this... so let me add my 2 cents since I ran the very same tank and currently running an IM 30 Ext, which is in the same size bracket.
First off, your tank is going through the ugly phase even if you think you passed it, well you’re learning that any type of imbalance that occurs...
i've used both and cant go wrong with either. the only Pros the WXM has, is it integrates with the APEX system, so you'll have your controls in one place. I'm currently using the reeflink right now thought just for the additonal features it offers like wireless calibration for lights.
no major updates on the main tank or frag tank. just added 3 new pieces to the collection.
WWC Space Invader, TSA Bill Murray, and Tranquil Millie.
