Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
So, I picked up a unit from Express Water, on Amazon, for $170.
6 stage filtration - chem filter, sediment, granular carbon, RO, DI, activated carbon.
Unit is nice and labelled for dummies.
Set up, again, labelled for dummies.
Simple instructions.
Size is that of a normal RODI and it takes...
He's a whizz with those Walmart directions. I've seen him put together a Sauder nightstand in only 6 hours. Once he left, I fixed it a bit. But he did an OK job.
Sounds very suspicious. Does she bring you the meds?
Speaking of such - What she's digging?
If it's rectangular and a few feet deep, stop taking the meds and get out of there.
Anyone got one? We just rearranged the living room and theres a small open space a tank would fit nicely in.
Might even consider flake/frozen eating dwarf horses.
Little 7g for a beta, 10-12 neon tetras, a crazy plecki that Sponge hooked us up with, and a few snails that have now turned into 100.
Few small pieces of driftwood and a couple of no maintenence plants.
Although they've fallen out a bit with all the new tech out there, I can't recommend Sea-swirls enough.
180 degree rotating pattern driven by your pump of choice. I've got 2 on my back wall pushing in 500gph each to create some chaotic flow.
Don't think I'll ever run another tank without them.
I...
Welcome aboard!
Dave and I are the good looks and intelligence of the crew, you can tell because we respond first, as all good looking intelligent people do.
Sponge gave a thumbs up, but he's sorta on the outskirts trying to get in.
Seriously, we have a great community here, wide and varied...
Troubleshooting my RODI today and found my in water to be 147tds. Further investigation regarding town water showed it to be in a pretty sad state.
Decided to run a new RODI for drinking water under the kitchen sink with an 8g upgraded holding tank.
Figure this will supply enough drinking water...
Grats on the save!
I propose that while netted it will settle exactly where you like it then, within 48 hours, it will migrate to the least visible area in your tank. ;)
This is sorta cool. Apparently models aren't just models anymore, a load of kits offer 'serious modeler' upgrades.
In my case I piked up an upgrade kit for the D-7 that included the LEDs, modified plastic parts to diffuse the light properly, and photoetched parts.
With some research, seems...
Kit 2 just came in. :)
Its a Klingon D-7 at 1:350 scale, which puts this puppy somewhere around 3 feet.
Picked up the LED lighting and effects kit as well.
Had a similar situation with introducing a gladiator quite a few years back when they were the fashion. NIce as they look they're quite aggressive (guess its in the name). Lost a 3yo clown to one, same deal. If you're going to keep the gladiator be aware that she'll probably be hyper aggressive...
Mmmm.. Cheato needs space to tumble a bit and needs a good source of direct light. I'm concerned that putting such a small amount in the cage will cause it to brown and release phosphates, which sorta defeats the purpose of cheato and may harm the horses.
Any artificial alternative?
Maybe a base...
Happy to see this is coming to fruition!
Still wondering what jabbing you're going through as your wife won the tank, but as a married reefer I can speculate and sympathize ;)
Hoping to see an epic build thread.
OOOH! Thats Nice! Can I have it!?
:)
Seriously, I've always been a softie/zoa guy. Mainly because I'm a lazy chilled out reefer.
I follow a pattern that many here who know me know, where I go from multiple nanos, very successful with zoas and shrooms to a larger tank or two where I expand out...
