Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
might be less concerning, I've seen freshwater hobbiest use these a lot so it might not be that bad. Salt creep on these and the rust on the rivets were a concern for me.
Going for experience and like Edwin has said, I wouldn't trust those numbers. I would only use them for temporary situations, not as permanent solution for a stand. They rust easily due to the saltwater and all the structure is held on by rivets.
I think it'll take more than that. I mean yeah, new members are always good but I feel like the forum is missing some of the greater wisdom that helped me get through some of my issues when I first started. Not saying no one here is knowledgeable but just feels that way.
A buddy of mine is holding some corals for me, I have a purple and electric green hammers and a green frogspawn, i'd be happy to trade for it.
you're pretty far but if you ever find yourself near me, let me know.
I get that but it seems like no one is around anymore. I get that people move on and leave the hobby but usually new people come in and fill in those spots. I remember going in to Red Sand, Feng's old store before he moved down the street and an NJRC member was there too, he told me to check...
Edsal racking system is what you're looking for. I used one on my 57 gallon tank before and honestly one of the reasons I decided to upgrade sooner than later. They rust pretty quickly due to salt water. I wouldn't suggest them at all unless its for temporary reasons.
sounds like you might have some sort of bacterial issue in the tank, from the brown slim you mentioned on your first post on the zoas. what are your nitrate and phosphate levels? didn't see you mentioned it. are you running carbon? dosing anything? did you spray and aerosol cleaning products by...
not sure what kind of setup you have but if you have a sump, I would try to introduce some bio-media in there to help with the lack of rocks first before I started dosing anything. Get some MarinePure Blocks/Balls or some Siporax. Seed them with some Microbacter or Dr.Tims. As the media gets...
Thanks guys! looking to get this rolling quickly.
on another note, the forum has really declined since I was here before. what happened to everyone? did everyone in NJ stop reefing? where are all the coral frag deals? there use to be coral frags for sale on a daily, weekly basis and equipment...
I haven't but it seems pretty easy enough, just have to rewire the t5 sockets to match one ballast and then find a hole saw bit and drill the aluminum or a rotor would work.
I was thinking about doing it to my 8x24w ATI sunpower but the resale on them was not worth it for me to go ahead do...
ahhh, that makes sense.
ever thought about, just running the 2 outer T5s and removing the middle ones, cutting a hole to fit your kessil so you have a make sift hybrid?
