Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Interesting.
Might want to check your temp, the heat is NOT coming from the light, looks like its from the pump.
Ran the tank for 24 hours with light off, registered 83.7F
Clowns find their groove. Ive had em in hurricane flow and they do fine. Be more concerned with softies, if they stay...
This post reads 9am start Saturday.
RP site states 11am doors open.
I was planning on gettting there about an hour before doors open at 10am.
With waking 2 kids, feeding, dropping off at grandparents, etc, that extra hour's time is gold.
So is 10am acceptable?
I was trolling some old posts over at R2R and I found an interesting thread from a number of years ago regarding ceramic media.
About 9 or 10 posts in my eyes beheld a paragraph whose prose I instantly recognized, though there was hardly a mention of supermodels anywhere to be found.
Modding tank with one of these...
Amazon.com: AC Infinity AXIAL 8038, Muffin Cooling Fan, 115V AC 80mm by 80mm by 38mm Low Speed: Computers & Accessories
Will start a thread of the mods I've made in case your interested. Love the cabinet by the way, may have to pick one of those up.
Can't see how they market it as reef lighting. I put my water in about 5 hours ago at room temp (77F), heater set at 78F, and its currently 85.6F! I can feel the heat coming off the lamp sitting next to it.
May try cutting out the hole for the skimmer and directing a small fan into the innards...
OK, saw one of these tanks and got an amazing deal with a price match. Sitting on my desk now, set up as a frag tank for zoas
I cut a media basket to fit the overflow in the first chamber, have a cheato fuge in the top section of the second chamber, some ceramic media in the bottom of the second...
Here's the scoop.
New all in one tank going to be a zoa/paly frag (only) tank.
No sand, no live rock.
Plastic 'eggcrate' on PVC legs.
Biomedia is ceramic, use it in all my tanks, love it - MarinePure Ceramic Biomedia Plate
Some of above ceramic will come from an established tank.
5g of water...
Stomatella snails.
Excellent to have.
Eats microalgae, not coral.
If uou live near Brick or if you're going to Reefapolooza I'd love to buy a few of them from you.
Stomatella
Starting a small frag tank with a 13g Fluval Sea Evo.
Pump is OK (11x turnover), but considering supplement.
Looking for a small used wavemaker, any type as long as it has a random flow control.
Jebao-wise looking for a smaller unit (PP-4, TW-10, etc).
Lemme know.
Hey Dan,
They pop up on craigslist fairly often. There's one in Brick right now (28g) for $165, though thats a bit steep for a used one.
BTW, you're not the guy selling the ATO/pump that I just sent a message to in Blackwood, are you?
Looking good!
Are you dosing manually or relying on water changes for the SPS?
Curious as since I broke down the big tanks, and moved to nanos (25g and less), I've been softie only, though I have the lighting to support SPS.
Well, that was fun.
At one point I had to walk away from the computer for an hour as it was getting too intense.
Ended up with:
6 Electric Delights
6 Whammin watermelons
2 Bloodsuckers
2 Scrambled eggs
2 Mandarin Oranges
4 Laser Lemons
2 Posideon's Fury
1 Magician's Paly...

My 5c.
I love this place.
Met a bunch of good people.
Have received corals and supplies in amounts that I couldn't afford at times due to generosity of members.
Have donated a load of corals and supplies to other members.
Appreciate all the back office folk do to keep this place up.
