I got all my flex PVC from them in 2004 and had no problems as well. Their security problem was well documented and, as Brian indicated, they made good on everything and plugged the hole. I'd use them again as well.
From what I was told by TLF and Calfo (in person at MACNA DC) you need to suspend the pods vertically half way in the water. Then once the the roots are established, you can remove whatever was suspending them.

I have 2 plants in my sump for 4 years with a LOA 65W Home Depot Special. I know it's not enough to do anything for the nitrates but it's cool to have them growing anyway. I plan on getting a whole bunch more at MACNA this year. Two Little Fishes sells them for like $1 or $2 per pod at the show...
