Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
But you do come off as critical in the majority of your posts on this topic.
What frustrates me is people who deal in absolutes in this hobby. IMHO I disagree with all those folks who say crpto can't survive without a host for x amount of hours, days, weeks. But that is my opion based on my...
I add garlic and selcon to my food all the time.
I've had no problems until a fellow reefer jinxed me and have been fighting a mild ich outbreak the last few weeks.
Fish seem to be fighting it off and continuing to grow and gain weight.
Check out the Reef Chemistry forum archives for Randy Holmes-Farley's articles.
Magnesium, gets depleted but the amount varies. More if there is not enough calcium present.
It helps maintain higher levels of calcium, so those who like to pump the calcium up to higher levels need to boost mag...
I use ESV Kalkwasswer in my topoff; 2 teaspoons per gallon of RO/DI.
If I keep up with weekly water changes, I skip the 2 part. Otherwise I dose as necessary based on testing.
1 drop of Lugols a month
And I feed the tank fairly heavily and occasionally spot feed the corals.
Sorry that Cosmo is not feeling well. I know exactly how you feel! I'll be praying for you and Debbie.
Here's a picture of Roxie for Cosmo to take when it's time. I'm sure she will show him all the good spots in paradise.
Wow! Things have come full circle. My first meeting was the joint Bobby Llama / Merv meeting, and then Booby got on his Llama to search for the great unspoiled reef....
Now that he is back it must be time for me to leave to follow the Great Llamas calling........
I miss my bubble. :'(
It would be better on the sand, with room to expand. I fed mine whole krill and silversides. Lighting was VHO's and flow was low to moderate. You halides will be more than enough lighting so no need to move it too high.
I lost it to a potent stinging plate coral that...
When I moved the 75 to the 180 I matched temps and did several water changes on the 180 and used the old 180 water to change the 75. I did 4 - 15 gallon changes on the 75 in a week. After that I just moved everything without dripping.
Hey Joe,
The 55 I just broke down had 5"-6" of the home depot white play sand. It was almost four years old.
I never had any problems that I attributed directly to the sand. I had various cycles of algae, cyano and dinoflagellates in the first year. But all were addressed without changing the...
Well I moved some stuff around today and the best spot I have will handle a small to medium size one with a little room for growth. My birthday is coming up in 2 wweeks. I'll have to see what AO has that day. ;)
I know what you mean Tom! Everytime he was just about done, the purple tang would sneek up and start tugging! ::)
The plate was a great eater and potent stinger. He did my bubble in so I sold him. I might get one in the 180. Not sure as I filled it up more than I expected.
Sandee, so far he...
Same as Tom, but I gave them the whole silverside. Of course it took him longer to eat it and I had to chase the thiefs away a little longer.
I'll have to stop by and check him out tomorrow; he's sleeping.
