if he's growing and looking happy then no your doing ok.. usually every other day i give mine a silverside or squid. it won't touch mussel but the condy loves it..
i agree why have the stress of selling it whole which isn't all that often or having to part it out.. just make it into a reef tank. why go down in size?
so many choices..
ok experts which is better.. this is what i'm looking at, it's in the price range i am going to pay and it will end up minimal use in the master bedroom sometime in the spring. also i can go to any of the locations that are selling them..

i just want to make clear that i am not bashing you or your buddy. i am only referencing a lic. or un-lic. plumber for the pay scale.. most LFS if they do what your buddy had done will use that scale. I'm on your side, i think he got ripped. If you can just understand my point that a business is...
Jim there is an Amazon.com in New Castle Delaware off 13.. I dunno how far you are from DE though :P

I wanted to have a 3" or so depth.. i'm just curious to weather the fine grain will pack more and not let a DSB do it's work by restricting the flow through it..
i would suspect that whatever a plumber gets the vendor would probably get the same or a little less for not having a license.. and you know how expensive plumbers are.
now i heard that the sand you have pictured is near impossible to get..? i might see if i can work a deal with a LFS to get 100lbs of base rock and 240lbs of sand for a decent price.. i mean i would consider that a bulk purchase..
i'll look in your tank thread by the way.. :)
Just wondering if anyone has pictures of their tank with the Oolite sand.. the real fine stuff.. trying to decide to go with the Bahama Sand style (like my 55) or the fine stuff.. Not going to have a massive amount of flow in the tank so no sand storms...
