The Blue Ridge Coral I have is definitely a Softie? :o . I HAVE TO FRAG IT as it's really starting to spread. I'll have some with me at the meeting if anyone wants some.
Just dropping in to say hi while sipping my cappachino at Java Baba's Internet Cafe, at the foot of the beautiful Okemo Vally Ski Mountain. Luckily my brother brought his laptop so I was able to drop in. Looks like it was a busy weekend at NJRC and I have a lot of catching up to do when I get...
Yea, that looks cool.
I personally don't think I'd dedicate quite so much of the actual reef to one flavor though. I kinda like the mixed patch look on the sand bed where you can more easily control them. This make good use of the empty snail shells and seemingly countless frags that don't make...
I've read where reefers have done just that. But you want to be careful that you don't encroach on the anaerobic area of the sand bed if your using a deep bed. If your using just enough for asthestics than I don't think it will be a problem. You'll need to make sure you've gotten all the silts...
When I had Xenia, I was gonna try attaching small rubble at the boarder where I wanted it to stop. Then when the Xenia was firmly attached to the rubble, remove the rubble for trade or sale. I never did try it though. Kinda went with Eds method when when I banished all softies from my tank.
Come'on Steve, Stop teasing us!!
Deb, Do you have any zoa fields in your tank? That's what I like. When you have a couple hundred/thousand heads all tight together spreading out across the bottom they look really nice. I'm with you on the over priced, hype and all that though. Then at night...
thus the phrase " Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". But I agree about the hype. I wouldn't pay any more than $1/$2 per polyp, usually. They will have to be something real special to warrant any more. But no more than $5 per polyp.
If not an Echinophyllia or Chalice then Mycidium or Oxypora maybe....... but LPS for sure.
If those guys think its a Montipora (sps) then......... well, I'll leave that alone.
Looks nice though. Put me in line for the first frag!
Ed, what zoo's do you think you'll be bringing? I already have the eagle eyes and their doing great. I don't really have any frags right now but cash is always encrusted and ready to trade. ;D
