If you're really serious about temperature calibration you need a NIST certified thermometer. I use this baby --- Long Stem Calibration Thermometer - Traceable --- and I'm very happy with it. For a little less money, I think I recently saw an email from Kevin at Hanna about a NIST thermometer...

Unfortunately, silicone does not stick to silicone - so resealing is a crap shoot.

I have a cheaper 5' T5 model. Only complaints are that the blue LED night lights all stopped working a few months after I got it. On the model I have, the bulbs are held in place with plastic clips. They get brittle and break easily. Aside from that, it works.
I have two you can have for nothing ~ I'm not impressed with them and I'm probably not caring for them as well as I should be.
Caveat: I think these are both a good 24" tall.
