run quality carbon and make sure you change it out when the water in your white bucket looks yellow. brightwell purit is on my radar as well. they are billing it as next level carbon, even removes heavy metals. i'll be switching when my matrix and rox are gone
dont tell this guy where you live. he'll just bring you a bunch of free beer and corals, then he'll help you with all the hard work around your house before he leaves
biospira is also my go to for instantly cycling a tank - will 100% give your tank a kick - shut off skimmer, remove carbon etc etc. there are many other brands that do it. but in discussion and reading and thought, we have a member whose tank is 50 years old. this tank is the goal of many of us...
can just build your own really I mean if you want something super nice.
get glass shelving online or maybe at local shop for the walls and you can get a scrap piece of marble or granite at local countertop shop for bottom, they'll even drill it out for you. imagine the colors you can choose...
anyone see the new BRS video format? what do you think of it?
idk but like every commercial on my phone is BRS, I don't think I've ever bought anything from them. most of my purchases are from Marine Depot or saltwater Aquarium
maybe they'll stop spamming me if I buy something lol
i regularly use bio spira. i used dr tims last time and it worked fine, but it is more expensive. i have heard stability works from a lot of people so i just bought a gallon. i had a $25 discount from buying from marine depot! woot woot!
i got into prepping the stand for primer and ive decided to build a new one. doesnt make sense to brace up the old one and probably not even possible. i will save a few pieces of trim and maybe the doors (probably the doors are too small) to keep the good juju but im open to design ideas. right...
just even if you fill with water it would come off glass after a few days with a razor. same thing with the rest just throw it in there and let it soak.
i have a tank that i throw anything in, its a mess. half dead corals, nems exploding, fish swimming around wondering when the nuclear apocalypse is going to end. then i have my real tank and nothing goes in there without a super long qt
LOL
yeah any of thse are good to jump your tank, then after that get microbacter 7 or seachem stability or whatever bacteria in a bottle you like. dont over do it and make sure you have a lot of flow or aeration cause you can end up nuking your tank with it
