I here yea, I normally glue any wooden dowls. I'm sure you will be fine with the cut I would just cut top of stand and not the back because of support.

Put it together and throw a level on it, then go from there. I wouldn't glue stand or anything like that till decision is made.

I always read that you want to have like 1/16 of an inch gap so you can adhere silicone, I would just cut as close as possible and silicone. Which one works better idk.

Would you be able to use sand paper to shave them down a hair? It also helps the silicone stick better to the acrylic

It could be it all depends on how your overflow pipes are set up. I have a hole in my loc line and return pipe to stop syphin, all I have to worry about is what comes from overflow after that. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
