Seems to me there's a health food supplement that consists of some sort of liquid garlic in capsules. Wonder if that would work. Might be easier to deal with than powder.
Free to Good Home: GRI 820 external pump that I just took off line. It has been running flat out for 6+ years. Does 1500GPH @6ft, 27' max head, 1" input, 3/4" output, 230 watts. Some rust, and I didn't buy it new. Was used to pump from a basement sump to a first floor tank.
$50: Backup GRI820...
Ia anyone aware of any studies, preferably scientific, that demonstrate a positive link between garlic and fish health? I attended a MACNA lecture a few years back where the speaker claimed there was no link.
Thanks, that maps to the place. Do you know if they cut acrylic to size? In the past I've gone to Canal Street in lower Manhattan when I've needed it cut to size.
If you plan on using the average of the three readings, you could get a nice inaccurate average. Inexpensive thermometers are not accurate - most are +/- 1 degree C (+/- 1.8 degrees F), so your 78 degree F reading could easily be anywhere from 76 to 80. Check out this Cole-Parmer list for...
Olivier,
Somewhere north of Route 46, before it branches into 3 and 46, there's a plastic fabricating shop where I bought some Weld-On #16, maybe two years ago. I can't remember the name of the place or exactly where it is (Great Notch?). I tried to find it again last month but failed. I've got...
Used Glass
You guys should see what Feng (Red Sand) has been doing with used glass. He's making his 500G tank (on the left when you enter the store) thinner (front to back) and making a 10' frag tank with the leftover glass.
Here's two very interesting eBay auctions for some lucky NJ reefer:

Get the pieces cut exactly to size when you buy the plastic. Note that some places have limits on how small they'll cut (because of the danger to fingers). If you're a perfectionist you may want to use a blowtorch to flame polish the edges.
The epoxy probably goes for $4 or 5 at Home Depot, but may be throwing good money after bad. I think you've got a better chance with it than with a cyanoacrylate, but it is probably a crap shoot.
I'm not familiar with the Sea-Flo, but it sounds like the prop should not be rotating independently of the magnet. I've tried Crazy Glue in a similar situation, but it has no shear strength and will fail. You might try a two-part epoxy glue (not a two-part epoxy putty).
