I'm using a hang on skimmer that I've had for years. works pretty good once I get it tweaked but if its not enough I'm going with an etss small profile I think 6" will do it it has a 4" profile plus a reactor for carbon
I'm making a sump/fuge the first section I figured out. 30" long tank 1st section 6" 2nd fuge thinking 12"? 3rd 12" for return?
do you think this is the best layout? anyone else running a 30" sump/fuge? pros and cons of how you set it up?

my first tank is a 150. I got it before becoming a member here and hearing the options. if I go do over I would have gone with the 180 for the 24" depth at the time. but now that I'm doing it for a while 265 ;D
I have all the produts and ready to go but I'm now undecided. I've been using some of the additives but the rocks are still in the boxes.

my daughter is looking for a light for her 55 gal planted tank. she buys all these nice plants just to have them die off I thought about hallides but something else should work mabe t5"s 48" tank. what are people using in their planted tanks?
I have 5 tanks smallest is 40 gal. 55. 75.90.150. its definatly a chore at times. but most of the time I enjoy everything involved with this hobby. when something goes wrong it keeps me up at night.so I understand. hang in there
I have one and its one of the best things I ever did. also from home depot and they were helpful with setting it up I'm sure they have a record of when you purchased it and most likely will replace it.

It is a solid piece of plywood but I decided to go with a 20 long 30x12x12 it will just make things easier. I was trying to get as much volume as I could but the 20 will be fine. thanks for the help.
I purchased a 30 gal tank to use as sump/fuge under 75 gal. tank its a bit tall do you think I could cut the floor out without weakening the integrity of the stand?
