    Here's my Big Office System

Re: Here's my 120 What happens if you put them in your frag system instead of the dispay? I've found fish to annoy my clam enough to where it doesn't really open. Unforunately never that I've seen actually doing it, but over time you see the degredation. Moving it to the frag system solves half...

need some help with return pump.

The Mag 5 will be perfect. You're going to lose some head getting to the tank. Remember that the 500gph is at the pump, assuming 0 head, the 3-4' to the tank relieve some pressure as does the T you use to get it to the two sides of the tank, if that's the way you go. Every elbow, every turn.

World Oceans Day at Adventure Aquarium

Barry, thanks so much for setting the day up and making sure it was a great success. Thanks Kim for being there to help staff the booth! We had a great day, made some new friends and talked to lots of people about saltwater aquariums and protecting our oceans.

need some help with return pump.

A Mag 5 will push 500gph at the pump (with head loss to the tank it would probably be about 350). The standard single overflow can generally handle 600gph. You typically would want a Mag7 to handle a single overflow or something between a Mag 12 and Mag 18 to push 2 overflows. We ran a Mag 12...

My Yellow Tang is a Bully

A yellow tang is known to be a very agressive fish with the same genus. Things will likely settle down in a day or so. Stick to actinics between now and then. Hopefully they're getting used to one another. It also helps to hang 2 nori clips rather than just one so that there is no competition...

    Congratulations Albie611 ... May POTM.

Re: Congratualtions Albie611 ... May POTM. Congrats, Albie. Those are some of the happiest blastos I've seen (that weren't in my tank ;D) Great shot, nice focus.

New 200 and 15 gallon Marineland tanks.

How tall is the tank? I heard they were 29? You could use something like a lumenarc to cover it. That's what BillyR98 did with his tank. I think they throw a 3x3 square of light rather than the standard 2' throw of MH. If you weren't doing retro then you might need 2 fixtures. That 12 T5...

    Sulfur Denitrator: Who's running one?

Yeah, we thought about picking one of those up just to read the negative ORP, but just don't bother reading it.

    Sulfur Denitrator: Who's running one?

We used Matrix, so I can't help you there. I can tell you that the we couldn't get our probe to read negative on the AC II. So we have it ported in for no good reason. I don't believe you can read the ORP on the effluent though because part of the equation in there is the lack of oxygen. Once it...
