Are the temps on the right the colors they come in? If so the 6500K might make a good coral growth light (though I'm obviously not positive). They would make good grow lights for the fuge, though.

How long did you let it run for before testing it? What is your water pressure going into the membrane? I would post this in the AWI forum and ask them for assistance. They could probably tell you quite easily what to look at next.

Welcome to NJRC! One overflow can handle 600gph, typically so the Mag7 makes a good choice. Can be a bit loud, and tends to heat the water in the summer (like any water cooled model would in sump or out). As for the powerheads, I'd sooner stir the water with my hand than use a mod'd maxijet...

The main unit says (in German) do not use hose clamps. Those connections are designed to leak before putting up with pressure. The unit would probably self distruct over time if put under pressure (that or it isn't good for the resins or some such). We had a Ca reactor that we built out of...

You definitely need an ATO device to control a solonoid. It can't work any other way.
