there is the fish factory, and pet's plus in the area of the hidden reef. neither of which are next to a chinese food place. the fish factory is next to a strip club, and the hidden reef is next to a meat store. pet's plus is by itself, across from a tire store. pets plus is on business route 1.
i signed up with them as a retail vendor about 6 months ago. i thought the prices were about retail, and the inventory was not very exciting either. i have never made a purchase.
depending on what you wanted to do with it, you could make it look very nice. not industrial at all. actually, a big thing now is concrete countertops. they are very sharp looking, and look nothing like a piece of sidewalk on your cabinets!
i haven't made a stand out of concrete, but i've poured alot of concrete. it would be easy to make a stand. you'd just have to build forms out of wood to shape it and use 400psi mix with pea gravel. strip the form early and parge the flaws.
the 12k reeflux is very blue. more blue than the 14k phoenix actually. if you like a blue tank, it's a nice lamp.
as for the dual 250 watt ballast- you are correct. i purchased one from sunlight supply and in the first 2 months one side went out. i had to send it back to them and they replaced...
i used a simple UV sterilizer that came with it's own pump which ryan from the hidden reef recommended. i'm sure they can direct you to the model. i used this on a 200 gallon system and in about 3 days the green watwer had subsided and has never returned( after the bloom was visually gone i shut...
even changing 90% of the water will not cure it. i just had this a few months ago on the tank i maintain at the gym. it was amazing...it looked like freaken antifreeze.
it just kept coming back no matter how many water changes i did and with zero tds water.
if you are simply adding calcium like you stated, your water parameters are probably out of whack. additions of calcium will effect your alk.
just do some water changes to remove the excess and you should be ok. step it up to weekly for a while, until the parameters are correct.
how did you...
don't forget about microbubbles. in a small sump like a 10 gallon, you don't want the water coming through too fast. i would use the mag5 and drill the 40b.
a rose bubble tip is a very pretty creature. the warning is: anemone position themselves where they like to be. you cannot force them to stay where you want them. he might not like the area of sand in the center of the tank.
