I don't know about the recirc pump having to work harder (that does't make any sense to me), but I do personally believe that there's little benefit to the second chamber. That being said, I do have a 2 chamber unit and would probably replace it with the same if I ever needed to. *shrug*

Good luck with the clam. It is beautiful. We have a gorgeous clam in the stock tank in the basement. I had something bothering it in the display tank and we had to pull it out. It opens so wide down there, I know it is happy, but I'm sure not. Looking forward to the wedding pics!

We've never done a group buy on fish before. We've done a couple of coral buys, but it might make more sense to get a store to bring in a buy for us and give us discount/sale prices. We can try to arrange that with an LFS next year, if the group is interested in it.
