How it went from 7pm to 9pm is almost beyond me. I really wanted to tune in for that one too. Darn.

    December Holiday Party

When we began looking at options we couldn't find any in the lower cost bracket. We got to the point where we needed to make a decision as time was running against us. We couldn't find a hall to rent, caterer, etc. Unfortunately, the optimal place isn't always an option.

    Worried About My Kole Tang

Garlic, selcon and a large water change. It looks more like a bruise from as best I can tell from the photo. Feed more often than normal, keep nori hanging. Soak it in garlic. Hopefully that will do the trick and removal won't be necessary. Good luck.

New to NJ & NJ Reefers!!!

Was your 'Pay it Forward' coral program a formal thing with rules of participation or was that your general philosophy? We have a very pay it forward philosophy that is quite pervasive among the members, but no official 'pay it forward' program. I'd be interested in hearing how it was run (if it...

    Red bug treatment and info

What kind of skimmer are you using? Venturi? Turn that tube off. Beckett? Turn those off. Other? What feeds air to make the bubbles? Cut off whatever the air supply is. Not a problem on borrowing a tank. Make another 25g when you get a chance for a second water change. I'd use 1/3 of a pill...

    Red bug treatment and info

If you can rescue more than you think will be comfortable in there then just holler. Do NOT RUSH. Only bad things happen fast in this hobby. Plan. Plan. Plan. Take your time. Make your water. Treatment is necessary more to prevent spreading than to save your tank from imminent disaster (which...

    Red bug treatment and info

I would also wait longer on the water change. Changing it fast isn't necessary. This isn't like flatworms where they dispell mass amounts of toxins into the water. The longer the contact time, the more likely you've gotten them all. LOL, Merv. I just went to post the quote from your first post...

    Red bug treatment and info

No need to panick. Remedy is not terrible. Catch all the inverts you can, keep them in as much water/rock as you're able and throw some flow in there. They'll be fine (we have a 30g tank you can borrow if you need). There's a calculator somewhere that you can use to determine the dosage. If you...

    Heaters...

Stay far far away from the Won Brothers Digital Readout Thermometers. We keep the bulk of our heaters in the sump in the basement. I think we're running 4 400w ebo jager, if I'm not mistaken.

    December Holiday Party

First 20 seats are already sold. 100 seats remaining. After that we won't be able to accept any more. These seats will likely sell out fast and I don't expect any to be available at the door, unlike last year.

My Parameters. What else should I test for and how are they so far?

A phosphate reactor would help with your high PO4 reading. For the NO3, if you're blowing off your rocks, siphoning out your sumps, cleaning your socks and sponges, then the only other thing you can do is manage your water changes (or startup a nitrate reactor). Or reduce your feeding/fishload.

    Ornate angel

I have a pair of bellus in my 180 (already a happy pair, purchased from AO). I would think that a lightly stocked 120 would be fine for them as well. Mine love to weave in and out of the rockwork.

Pics of my new torch (Euphyllia glabrescens)

I could only find one web-based photo of that, Mike. It didn't look like the one pictured above. Any web photos?
