I believe I have colonial hydroids on a piece of Live Rock. I have heard that a Hydnophora will kill them...is this true?? Any other ways of getting rid of them?? Also, will a Hydnophora kill aiptasia??

I definitely think its new...just a messed up package. If you take a bulb out take a nice clear picture of the bulb out of the plastic.

Are the physical bulbs harmed at all?? Are they completely clear?? I know my bulbs...when brand new they are completely clear....but as soon as they are first used, they get cloudy when off...

My guess would be air in the pump...thats strange though. How long has the pump been running?? Ever clean it??

air getting in the pump?? Is it from your return pump?? Is it coming from the physical pump or the plumbing connected to it?

I've been trying to find a solution to them as well. I have not yet found a predator of them. Short of snapping them off one by one, they really will never go away.

Did you figure out what they were?? Are they Vermetid snails?? Sure sounds like they are. I've cut myself on them a lot.

I'd definitely say Vermetid Snails....I have them as well. They reproduce a lot if they have food...but they will die off as well. But the tubes will always stay.

Also...look up Vermetid snails.
