i am with tanks on the asterinas...frankly i think they are ugly - so i try and remove them where i can. Now that my invert-hungry yellow coris wrasse is in fish heaven - i noticed my asterinas coming back more and more.
heheheh - totally off topic but yes it takes one to know one...
starcraft...
HA! Most of the fry were fine with the barring. I only had a few that had the second bar missing. One thing I do notice though is that the clowns are much richer in color/intensity than the ORA clowns I see for sale in the tanks. i dunno why that is - I am pretty sure i fed them the same food...
Hmmmm...when was the last time the probe was calibrated? I think shutting the calc reactor is a good idea below 8.1.
anyways - I am just speaking out loud here - for all we know I am totally off base on a wild goose chase.
You mention ph was 7.9 - according to holmes-farley, ph at about 7.7...
Shrug....
the past few years have shown to me that tunzes and mh/vho were all the rage for all the "tanks of the months". Lately it's ecotechs and leds.
For me- I will now happily seek out all the suckers selling their tunzes at 50% off. Moooohahhaha! (yay for me).
Gotta love the study given...
They are so beautiful. It'***** or miss with them as far i understand - but i think i read that the death rate is insanely high before they even make it to the LFS. So i would be more inclined to pick one up from someone else. no experience with them - i think it was mentioned to NOT expose this...
I kinda disagree here. I use kalk and water changes, and Mag supplement. That's it. My sps appears to be growing fine - albeit my tank is not nearly as sps heavy as say smcoolers. There is no need for additional 2 part if you are dosing kalk. In fact if kalk isn't enough, just add a fan to...
sorry to hear about the lossess.
I read the parameters you posted and I agree with darren on the suspect of alk/ph.
Kalk typically is going to be reduced in quantity during the summer - introducing less alk.
Your CO2 reactor probably is still chugging at the rate itw as set at over winter...
as i recall from herb's tank - pocci = coral that won't die and constantly eats up real estate.
sorry to hear about the problems you've been having jim - i am sure you will rectify it soon. even with the hiccups I would venture to say that I wish my tank was as beautiful!
i love the aqueon - it's basically the same thing as what aqob posted about lee's.

I use this for my tank water changes - no more buckets for me. However i don't know how that would work for a sump that sits on the floor. My...
All,
This forum is for FREE items only. Do not post asking how much an item is.
Sandee - unfortunately I need to ask that if you plan on selling anything to please list those items on a separate thread and in an entirely different area in deals///steals. This forum is not a place for...
if it weren't so hot out - i'd suggest paying me the USPS cost for mailing and i'd send you a gallon of chaeto. or if you are around the edison area i'd just give it to you.
did they get all their corals from underwater world? :P (just joking).
sid you are too funny. I'm going ask the other mods if we can rename you to "o-ring sid". ;D
wow that's terrible but if i were a business i would want nothing to do with paypal - certainly not on an order of over 10k especially with any random john doe buying corals.
you could certainly mix the kalk into the reservoir but I think it will drastically reduce the lifespan of the tunze pump that goes with the oz.
if you have the inclination/(aka money) -you could get a kalk reactor. I purchased a PM one from a group buy several years back. Every once in a...
you run a sandbed taz? Maybe the bed has saturated and is now releasing nutrients back into the tank...causing the algae rush?
I actually use regular NO light (e.g. 60w light bulb that are goign to eb discontinued soon) and the chaeto does not stop growing. I also do not run gfo or carbon...
goes to show how old i am on this board...
