Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yeah it’s bacterial, it’s gonna whip through your hammers/frogspawns/torches. I have used the kfc dip and am pritty positive it’s what saved my hammer, and octospawn after my torch melted just like that.
The last thing you want is to add aptasia and the copperband not eat them, or randomly die which they tend to do, and then you have aptasia and can’t find a healthy copperband again.
The tank is nearing its ten year old anniversary lol. Be careful what cheap corals you put in there in the beginning. Once you
Got them they will win eventually.
The biocube is getting overgrown with zoas and shrooms and making the sps stn from the base up from constant stinging : (. I could use 10 sticks of epoxy just to cover all the gsp, and zoas . I already have a cherrybomb and asd millie in the big tank but I clipped more frags to throw them in the...
This is Goliath, he can easily trap a fish if he wanted. I’m hoping he traps my
Melenarus wrasse cause I can’t add any other wrasses with him in there.
Dang for some reason every tank I own never supports big bubbles for my bounces. The mushrooms grow and all but the bubbles just become weak or discolored.
I have purchased 15 lbs of the unique corals Australian live rock and that’s been in my tank for a few months now. Maybe the particulates getting kicked up and the higher flow is pissing off the corals. Like a constant dust storm knocking into them. Pristine sps reefs tend to always be crystal...
Send out an icp test to just rule out odd things. I lowered my phosphates and things look way better. Every tank is different. Some tanks run fine with some numbers and others don’t.
To be honest I figured starting a new tank after having a lot of experience would be easy. But there really is something about the age of the system and the age of the rock. I focused on keeping high nutrients in the beggining to go along with the idea that you can basically mature your system...
Deffinitly go to Brian at reefco. 100 percent the original Oregon tort. Couldn’t tell you how many times I got small frags that were all blue but then turned out to be the Cali tort.
There was once a time before we had oh probes and tridents and gadgets. We focused on doing weekly waterchanges with quality water and salt, and kept the alk and calcium stable and with time stuff grew. I would say if your stuff looks good and growing don’t worry about it. Easier said then done...
Tank looks good and corals are growing. Don’t worry too much about the numbers then. Eventually the algea on your rocks will die back and free up the nutrients in your water column.
