BUT everytime I try and address it, I lose alot of coral. so my only plan is skim more wet, change my filter socks more quickly, feed a little less, and add a better grow light to the cheato section. IF I can get...

Yello Tang, Tomini Tang and Blue Tang, plus hundreds of stomatella snails and a baseball size of cheato that slowly grows in a 2.5 gallon tank above my sump.
I have had between 3 and 6 ,or 7 and ended up with 3 very bright babies. Ended up getting a little smaller than a quarter and disappeared. So I don't want to trade any away as it may be a good number to have them spawn again.
I have done less, depends on what you were stating with. If it was already dry, probably good. If it was algae covered fresh live rock with Coraline and other living matter. Wanna wait a little longer to remove all the spores and such but no sure of a minimum time. The. Soak in dechlorinator,and...
