I'm switching my 75gal softie tank over to a 110gal softie tank. Just thought someone might get some ideas from mine when they build theirs.
Mine is a bit overkill on the lumber cause I'm always standing on the stand to work in there, so I built the stand 8inches wider all the way around.

The ones in the tank are only from them dieing in the room. They are not attracted to the water. Their eggs are outside in the ground. They only come in the house to eat the celeouse(SP?)out of the wood then bring it back to the nest if they can make it back in the hole they came out of. Most...
They are termites. This is their swarming season. They come out for 3 days then die off. Is there a window in the basement? Where did your wife notice them flying around? They stay flying around the hole where they came out of(which is usually a window). If it's a window, caulk all holes to keep...
I don't think I would even attempt to drill rock in a disply tank. Did you ever see the dust that drilling rock creats? Your tank would cloud up in a minute.
I've been experimenting with bulbs like thes for a long time. Never had 3 of the same bulbs at once . I can't find the look I want. I do like the groth and looks of the XM 10K tho. My SPS's are more colorful under them.
Thanks. Thats what it looked like exactly in person for six months after that. The same thing in my other tank. I have a 10K XM and a 20K XM and the 10K side is brighter, And I don't use any actinics.
If you have room around it to spread, theres no need to frag it unless you want too. If it stays cramped up, it can become ill. To frag it, just use coral snips or a dremmil and break as low as possible. They can splinter.
