Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Mark, no idea what was going on with your issue. Realize that it doesn't take much to reach saturation. When I was dosing, I would never go past 2 teaspoons of powder per gallon of RO/DI water. Anything more than that didn't go into solution.
If he's still around, MikeM would be the guy. I know he lives down in your neck of the woods, but I haven't seen him on the site in some time. Might wish to PM him to see if he's around and willing to do it. It is fairly simple if you can get past the rust.
I've done a couple outboard trim...
I’m not sure I understand your concern and all these float switches, so I’ll simply state the simplest way to start using kalkwasser (Calcium hydroxide).
I don’t know your tank and the amount of hard corals you have, but if you have a bunch or they are large, saturated kalkwasser alone won’t be...
Originally purchased this for a six foot freshwater tank, but it would work on salt as well. It’s been sitting around too long. Here’s the original price:
but for you, while it lasts, it’s free…..and with no tariff as well.
I haven’t even taken it out of the box, but if I remember...
Assuming dry frag plugs: The trick is to use an accelerator with the super glue.....whatever brand you wish to use. I actually make my own accelerator by mixing 1 tsp baking soda with a 1/4 cup of water.
If you're gluing in the tank, mix up epoxy putty now squirt in some super...
Don't know where you're located but try searching 55 gallon plastic drum on craigslist....I've got a local guy in South Amboy that sells them for ten bucks. I couldn't fit all in my car and he actually delivered.
Yep, and I don't remember having any big issues with that move....nothing that sticks out. Also a 180 or 220 in South Plainfield where MikeM simply climbed underneath the tank and put it on his back and walked up the bilko stairs. I think the crew that was there stood there in disbelief...
You don't mention where you're going with this tank? Picking up from AO and going where? And do you need help loading at AO and unloading at your house or just at the house?
You have a touch under 400 pounds. Since your space is tight going through a door I'd consider shoulder dolly straps...
I guess I should have clarified. Just like me, everything I have is old. I do not have any QD MP40's, but the 7 or 8 that I own, going back to 2002, are all 24 volts. Again, maybe the newer models are 32, but the older models are 24. Here's what you need to do....very simple....just match...
I don't know if the MP60's take the same power supply as the 40's, but if they do, my last order came from here:
https://www.amazon.com/COOLM-Adapter-Power-Converter-Charger/dp/B07DFXS78C?th=1&tag=reef2reef-20
You want to match voltage and at least the amps of the old one....higher amps is OK...
Here's another option, and the only way I'd use a check valve, what Marc Levenson (Melev's Reef) called a reverse check valve siphon break. The advantage with this application is that when it fails it puts water back into your tank.
Must be Lowe's! Similar situation. I have a Lowe's credit card that automatically gives you 5% off, but I was entitled to 10%, so he told me I couldn't use my Lowe's card. I used a non-Lowe's card and when he totaled it up I got nothing off. Sent me to Customer Service that gave me the...
Heater controllers are a must and a required piece of equipment.
Years ago I bred freshwater fish. I had a 75 gallon tank with around 300 tiger barbs and, while on vacation, we got a call from our tank sitter, crying, that the fish were dying. She didn’t know what to do. When we got...
It must have been that full moon we had a couple days ago....the old timers checking back in....Herbie a couple days ago and now Bill. Welcome back Bill.
Paul, it sure sounds like you have a parasitic drain/draw with your car....and every one I've worked on has either been a Jeep or Ford (Lincoln)...so I'm assuming this is your Jeep. I'd prefer the colonoscopy over trying to find a parasitic draw....they are impossible! Computerized modules...
