Some snails would help clean the rocks atleast that’s a start, and hopefully not too much detritus is sitting in between all that eggcrate. Egg rate can end up causing spots for detritus to settle and not get removed from the tank.

Interesting, how often do you do waterchanges sand your sure your rodi water is clean?

Happen to have any pictures of the tank? With smaller systems I find it takes longer for bare bottoms to fully sustain them selfs. Without sand you remove so much surface area on each grain of sand that houses the bacteria so although there is biomedia, it will take awhile for the tank to...

Did you happen to upgrade the back pump to the maxijet? That’s what I have on my tank because it’s stronger then the original pump it comes with. Maybe try different angles with the return to push the top scum more towards the overflow.

So far the bounce has been in there for a month now. Every day with this thing is a success, I had one before and it withered away.

    Back in the Game

Photography with leds is an art within itself. An orange filter for the phone helps and then tweaking the light settings around can get you what they look like to your human eye. For my tank runs the ab schedual as most other people I find that turning the blues up to 100, dropping the red and...

Thank you, I have a macro lense for my phone but you need to have the coral within a few inches of it for it to not mess the phone up, so only a few corals can get a macro of.

ORA Green Birdsnest, Magnet fell, now having issues

Yeah the reef roids wouldn’t be a problem. The only time I can see it being a problem is if a drastic phosphate swing happened and I mean you went from undetected phopahates to above .40 . This has been seen with various tenuis corals as they seem to be the most expensive nowadays and people...

    0 NItrates!

I am curious as to why nitrate kits everyone is using? The only kit I have ever used or tried using was red seas pro nitrate and I have never got a reading at all on it so I don’t even know if it’s correct. I sent in an icp ages ago and it was 0 nitrates on there. I am looking for another kit...

Dosing nitrates would end up dropping my phosphates, which then I wouldn’t just have to dose nitrates, I’d also have to start dosing phopahates, and I don’t feel like buying another doser

    0 NItrates!

Ahh, I was unsure. I have zero nitrates in my biocube and I’m afraid to dose nitrates and bottom out my almost non existent phopahates so I just keep feeding heavier
