I'm considering it again as my tank will be ready soon and I'll need a QT. Would the QT tank be required to have rocks / cycled water or just water that's changed weekly or whatever?

4/12/19 update.. I think I'm close to being ready for a fish Here is my water paramters. Ammonia is just about zero so it's clearly being converted. Nitrite is high yet my only concern Nitrate is high as well but I don't have my lights on for algae to grow. I think it's time to...

I'm going to get one for the second chamber it's the intank fuge - I'll scratch the black off and put a light on the back. More money but less problems

Update ! Installed my media basket with chemi pure & purigen Picked up my pump from harbor freight for 8 bucks Ammonia is down to .25 ppm from 2.0ppm Nitrate & nitrite are pinned at Max testing levels. Either an algae bloom is about to occur or my rocks just arnt ready to filter yet

Best I could offer is some filter floss.

They're probably overkill for my need anyways. I would like 160's but I don't even have a fish in my tank yet so it's not necessary.
