Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Best thing to do is to make cleanup part of your monthly maintenance. When we had the sump in the stand we would shop vac it out once in a while as part of a water change.
I've heard that SPS do very well under T5s in a <24" tank. That's something that isn't commonly said of PCs. I would think that there must be something to the quality of light getting to the corals that would lead to that result. I'd go with T5s over PCs, especially if the bulbs are going to...
Sorry about the loss of your fish. I was really hoping he'd pull through for you. In the long run keeping ich out of your tank is near to impossible. Best to shoot for happy, stress free, well fed fish. The rest should take care of itself.
Sounds like a fun project. A lot of those new faux finishes are nearly bulletproof, so you should do fine. Be sure to post some progress pictures along the way!
Dix. I don't think they got nearly that close to getting away with it though. They've been being watched for some time now, from the reports in the news.
Yuma Mouth
That's a close up of what the mouth of a yuma looks like. There are bumps all over the rise that forms the mouth. The Florida will look similar, but without the bumps on the mouth area.
I'd like to see a good close up of the mouth itself.
Flower anemone?
I can't really see the mouth. Does the mouth have polyps on it? or is it smooth? Bumps would say Yuma. Otherwise it might just be a non-specific rhododactis of some sort.
We use them on our two tanks. In both cases we use a feed pump to move water from the holding tank into the sump. In these cases we don't use a solenoid, just the ATO double switch unit. Works like a charm.
I'd believe whatever Stan said... That' just looks more like a stag than a valida.
This is a valida
This is a blue stag
Those pictures can be found numbering in the thousands anywhere online. I'd be inclined to double check with Stan if it were me, just because it goes against everything...
Yeah that flex PVC doesn't really create a chemical reaction like schd 40 does so it tends to take longer to "set".
Try not to be too nervous! But DO be ready to handle leaks. Towels on hand, shutoff for the pump at the ready. You never know!
Good luck!
try taking the picture from the other direction. I'm having a hard time getting a good look at the coralites the way yours is positioned in the photograph. If you could position yours similar to the way it is in the ATL photo that would probably help.
If you're gluing to flex you need to really let it set (made that mistake, lol). Otherwise we usually start it up after the last fitting is in place. We've never had a problem doing it that way. The chemical reaction happens pretty quickly and I don't think "drying" is the same as it would be...
