Dave How big where the pieces you made and how heavy do you think they were? I understand that it depends on the size of rock you embed. Love the way that looks. Really makes your tank have that finishing touch in my opinion. Great job.

I clean the neck and collection cup and becketts regularly on my MRC skimmer, but I was wondering if I should soak and clean the main body/box also. I am sure it wouldn't hurt to do occasionally, but I was wondering if anybody actually does this?

I feel that I skim part time, but for a different reason than yours. My skimmer shuts down anytime I put my hands in the water for about an hour and shuts down for probably 3 hours after I feed. That only leaves me thinking that I am skimming properly bout half of the time that it is running anyway!
