I still use am inkbird ontop of the apex temp sensor along with a heater that uses a a temp sensor. It's all for redundancy as we want to make sure that everything stays safe and while apex may not be for everyone it sure does offer peace of mind. Wife calling you? No need apex texts you to let...
With the new ones coming out I'm sure you can find an Apex EL (Thats what I use in my office tank, the frag tank is full Apex) for cheaper than 500. I think I paid 350 for mine, You can do so many things with it like when you clean your pumps you turn on power monitoring to manage how many watts...
It's super easy. Where are you located I will gladly help as long as you aren't 100 miles away lol. Once you plug it in there is a tasks button that helps you setup every one of your items like a return pump, protein skimmer, ato, powerhead etc...

There is also a site that makes generic reagents that are much cheaper to save money.
I have an apex and an El. I also have a trident sitting collecting dust. I have seen the trident go for around 400 recently and the El should be around 350ish. I guess if you include the rest it may be worth while but still slightly high if you ask me. With the new version that just came out the...
