    sand storm

I have never seen nor heard of Coralife selling sand. Are you sure it wasn't CaribSea Ocean Direct sand? If it was the CaribSea, then it is a reef grade sand collected in the Caribbean and does contain quite a bit of larger sized pieces of shell and broken coral. This is the sand I used in my...

    LIGHTING

Easy with the caps lock there. lol What T5 light do yo have? Does it have individual reflectors? What bulbs are you running in the T5? You could always change the 2 T5 actinics for 2 more daylight bulbs to give you more usable light.

    sand storm

Depends on what grade of sand you got. Reef grade sand is a mixture of grain sizes and larger shell pieces. All the live sands are sorted by grade/size and all contain shell pieces. The size of the shells depends on the grade of sand you get. Finer the grade, smaller the pieces.

    LIGHTING

With the corals being high in the tank I would think that light would be enough. Lets see what some others have to say.

    LIGHTING

How far off the tank are the lights? How far from the light are the corals? 150's are a little on the weak side for a 2 foot deep tank. Most folks use 250's on that size tank. What wattage and spectrum are the T5's? As you can tell it is enough that the corals survive but may not be enough to...

    AQUAPAWRIUM

When this store first opened I thought it had potential. The owner seemed like a decent guy. Needless to say, they went downhill fast. But they do have a nice selection of damsels and coral skeletons to chose from.

My Weekly Problem Column – What is it?

Looks like cyano bacteria to me. Just another common occurrence in a new tank. You can siphon it out to keep it under control.
