Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I would think that if you turn the pumps off for a few hours it wouldn't be too bad. I'm OK with cleaning it out once a year or so but if it's more than that it may be more than I'm really looking for. Does the sand stay on top of the mud? Does it settle? If it stays on top I could just siphon...
Ayone use any of the "muds" in their fuge? Looks like it would work out well but it's pretty expensive and it seems as though you need to replace it every so often. Was thinking of mixing it with the sand but if it needs to be replaced that wouldn't really work. Anyone?
Just like so many other things, is it a big deal if you think your tank is reading 77° and it's really 80°? If it's constant, what's the problem? Now, if you keep your tank at 81° and it's 84° that could be a problem. If you're corals and fish look happy with what your temp is at, who cares...
Me too. Sure, there are things that I'm not a huge fan of, like water changes, but it's all part of the experience for me. Take the good with the not-so-good. Haven't really experienced most of the things posted but I'm sure I will so my answer is subject to change!
Which reminds me. I got the Rods fish eggs and my fish go CRAZY for them. They're much bigger than the Nutramar Ova eggs too so my SunCorals love them too. All my corals eat them too. They're nuclear orange but I could care less as long as the fishies like them.
You would be best off with the reef formula for Rods. Most of your fish are small enoughthat they will eat up the bigger pieces. Some of it is even too big for most of my fish.
At first it will just be the rocks and sand but I'm going to have to start moving stuff over eventually. Going to seed the tank with some sand from mine and CJ's tank along with the new stuff. Hopefully that will get the cycle going!
I would start with something that doesn't have long tentacles. I would avoid things like Frogspawn and Elegance for now. Maybe some Chalices? Candy Canes? Acans are a possibility too. Start cheap, like the $15 at Dr. Mac you mentioned so you don't learn the hard way.
