Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Tanks, the add on membrane kit from filterguys is pretty cheap and complete. It installs in less than 5 minutes. I say 5 because you will be following directions. I watched Jim do it in 2.5 minutes at MACNA. I'm looking into doing this on my own, but I have to check out numbers on my membrane...
And I thought my kids were a good deduction on my taxes! Anybody see this? http://www.reefbuilders.com/2009/08/06/claim-fish-taxes-3500/
Anybody going to claim your fish?
Interesting
Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I was wondering if you ever solved the mystery. I am actually having the same problem and I also use oceanic salt. Was looking into a diatom filter, but wondering now, If it didn't help you would it help me...LOL

Great deal, Chunks is the best way to describe, they are huge. Nice color. If you are interested get in touch with Joe, He had a couple left definitely worth it. Read about them in the for sale forum.

I've had a whole bunch pop up in the last 3 months. Fun to watch them grab stuff. I had one taking a small feather duster tube that was encrusted with one of my corals and had broken off.

So I get the impression that carbon is a BIG help in many ways. I have always run carbon off and on. How much should we be using? Is there a formula per gallon or is it just wing it? Can you use too much carbon, if not is there an advantage to running a lot extra?

PS sorry after re-reading...
I accidentally kept mine in the water once for a couple of days and it did rust. It actually left a rust spot on the glass for a few days. The razor will rust no matter what, but I don't want it rusting in the tank.
I do actually leave mine in the tank all of the time. I found that at the top...
It was presented as side to side during the workshop. I'd imagine that front to back would work also, but be much more turbulant. I'm not saying that I wouldn't try it though.

Curious to see what you learned and I missed. Looking forward to you posting on these points soon.
Trying Rod's food, wonder if I should rinse that?

Wow Wendy, EXTREMELY sorry to hear this. I love birds, but with my kids I have no time to give. I did have cockatiel that passed and a parakeet that I just got started to talk and become tame when I was younger and it accidentally got out of the cage and out the front door when we had a visitor...
