Coraline is so weird, I have a tank that is about 1 year old and certain parts of the tank I can't keep the coraline off of it, but as Maximus just mentioned... running 2xhydra 26s and 4 x t5s so maybe that is why.
Yeah tell me about it, something is always unhappy. I have some SPS at the top that needs the flow so I have to keep it higher flow up there but hammers which just like to bounce end up getting blown around. It's one of the things I've never been able to accomplish as of yet is that nice...
The problem with high phosphates and low nitrates is that your tank is out of balance. I had this issue a few months back and lost a TON of color in a lot of my coral. They need to be balanced otherwise things won't grow as you want them. Definitely get someone to help you run a test on both and...
Beautiful tank. I have been attempting to get a setup going like yours with my Euphyllia but I end up with too much flow in certain areas so half of it ends up on frag racks
I was always so worried about putting a magic eraser in just incase it had some form of chemical. I am sure it was just my paranoia but its the same reason I hate filter socks, possible bleach in the tank worries me but has never caused a problem.
I just did a mag test in my tank for the first time in about a year and was at 1220 which I find rather strange since I just assumed a water change would help replenish that but apparently not enough. Phosphates were at 0 while Nitrates holding strong at 17ppm. Sometimes you just overlook the...
Absolutely, I have a colony that my clowns host/sleep on and they tend to just drop "babies" which blow around my tank for a while. I have quite a few extra I believe.
I know others will disagree but peppermint shrimp have destroyed all of mine and I haven't seen any in months. I hand feed them so they don't pick at corals( never seen it happen but it's a just incase type thing).
I bought pods locally and run a small 3g tank about 3/4 of the way filled with fresh salt water. I added some pods from where I purchased locally. I add about 2-3 ml of phyto every 2-3 days and I have an unlimited supply of pods. They just keep reproducing. All you need is a small air pump and a...
I dont totally trust the API test... or trust them at all for that matter. If hanna was telling you 1.XX thats quite high I would look into Phosban L to bring it down rather quickly and you can use GFO as well. Be fair warned the GFO can make your alk drop much faster than normal.
Hi all! My name is Mark and I am located in Howell NJ. I have met quite of few of you from trades/sales and finally decided to join up. I have been into reefing for about 15 years with a hiatus due to marriage and children. Started back up a few years ago and some how manage to keep adding more...
