The problem with high phosphates and low nitrates is that your tank is out of balance. I had this issue a few months back and lost a TON of color in a lot of my coral. I was always so worried about putting a magic eraser in just incase it had some form of chemical. I am sure it was just my paranoia but its the same reason I hate filter socks, possible bleach in the tank worries me but has never caused a problem.

For my old acrylic I would just use filter floss to scrub the inside, I'm sure you can rubber band some around a stick ;)

Absolutely, I have a colony that my clowns host/sleep on and they tend to just drop "babies" which blow around my tank for a while. I have quite a few extra I believe.

I've read on r2r about people seeing then pick at lps. Never once saw it with multiple peppermint. Mine also out and about during feeding time.

I know others will disagree but peppermint shrimp have destroyed all of mine and I haven't seen any in months. I hand feed them so they don't pick at corals( never seen it happen but it's a just incase type thing).

I dont totally trust the API test... or trust them at all for that matter. If hanna was telling you 1.XX thats quite high I would look into Phosban L to bring it down rather quickly and you can use GFO as well. Be fair warned the GFO can make your alk drop much faster than normal.
