I was at AO and saw your little greenbanded . When I bought mine he was the same size as that ,maybe a tad bigger .. I saw him for a few days and then he disappeared. I figured he was lunch for someone . I bought it because my daughter said it was the smallest and cutest fish she ever saw . ::)...
Re: new tank starting
The tank itself will end up being the least expensive part of this hobby . You still need everything else to run it so for a few dollars more get the 50 or 65 if thats what you really want .
I think a 24 gallon aquapod with the 150 halide is a good starting point . It is in your budget(around $350) and will be all new which is nice when your all new .(lol) That lighting setup will let you grow what you wish when your ready (sps, lps, clams). If you go on some of the nano forums you...
Reef Central has a great do it yourself and large tank with a bunch of posts about building your own tank . Tons of info and help if needed, Good Luck Paul
Will there be a problem when the wood of the stand expands/contracts like it is known to do ? You are using two flexable materials, silicone and wood, as shims . That just doesnt sound right to me .I would think if it is silicone/shimmed agasinst the wood it would be prone to pulling apart when...
I agree with the converting it to a reef ready . Used tanks do not sell real well and the one you have looks very nice . Your tank is already established so there wont be a cycling issue. Have it drilled or go with overflows, buy a skimmer and you should be set . Lighting upgrade and flow will...
Picked this and a few more sps's up at AO on Friday .I love the color combo .The Blue and Yellow are much brighter in person, I'll get the hang of this camera soon,I hope. Enjoy !
I picked this up at the swap . At first I put it low figuring it would be low light like most sponges . It really didn't do much so I moved it into better lighting and more flow . That seemed to do the trick . It is opening up real well now and "shedding" off the brownish algae skin that had...
My Sump is also very low so syphon is not really an option . I bought one of those little wet dry vacs (2 1/2 gals) and reduced the intake with tubing down to about 1/2 an inch . I just turn off the pumps for a few minutes and then just suck out the detrious that settled in the sump compartments...
Steve i was just kiddin with you, your stuff always looks great . That tabling acro I got from you looks like its doin well, cant wait until it gets colony size,Paul
