Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
It actually does not add nitrates / say but converts various nitrogen based organics much more quickly than through normal biological actions than it would in the absence of Ozone. However, yes it can potentially add nitrate if there is high moisture in the feed air, which produces Nitric acid...
Who's ozone unit did you buy exactly ? You have a 24 gallon jbj cube nano ? I would shut that off yesterday till I know what the output of that ozone unit is. Does this unit have a dial on it ?
Some things to know about ozone
Ozone and the Reef Aquarium, Part 1: Chemistry and Biochemistry...
It is an Acropora sp and that is all one can say from a pic. :D Even Veron or Eric can not ID from a pic. And once they have been in systems for a time, fragging etc., not even Veron can ID them with the coral right in his hand
That is often the sign of a sick and dieing anemone. Anemones "swell up", same for tentacles with water. +90 % of some anemones is just from water pumping. What you have here are some gases being created inside the anemone and building up in the tips. They may get released through the tops of...

Most probe cleaning solutions are a low ph like ~ 4 and are made of 0.1 M solution of Hydrochloric Acid (HCl). In a pinch one can use pH cal solutions pH 4 or even Vinegar or Seltzer water. If Vinegar make sure it is really rinsed extra good.

I have never seen that stuff before. It would be interesting to see if you "calibrated" your OPR probe with that and then tried the PinPoint, same for Carlo, to see how close the meter reads. We have found that some solution are waaaaaaay off, not yet so much in ORP, hardly no tests but pH...
What page 12. I'm telling you what they told me it was designed for LPC and it can be used for have other uses. Often products find other uses. I know what the pdf says on ROX I have one, if that is your page 12
""Ash content say nothing of PO4. Chemically activated GAC can have lots of PO4 as...
As I said Carlo all GAC leaches PO4 to some degree and yes test kits can make a difference.
Boomer, give them a call back without telling them who you are and ask what carbon they would recommend for one of the processes I mentioned for the extruded carbon. They'll tell you Rox. They'll give...
Phosban reactors are great as long as the flow is correct and you ane not over tumbling them to much. Many are now using them as GAC reactors. pH and Alk can be an issue if you get to carried away. Here is a read on GFO
Iron Oxide Hydroxide (GFO) Phosphate Binders...
Yes Carlo this is staring to catch on a lot
In my current system I'm using 2 membranes. The waste of the first feeds the second membrane. The effluent of both are joined back again and fed into the DI canisters. My overall system setup this way runs at 1:1.
Tom who's system do you have ? Feel...
As I said I do not buy the Sachem >600 molasses # and if he assumed it does, along with a Iodine number of 1,000 with about the same TS/PV as Matrix, it would plug up FASTER than ROUX because of its higher Iodine number. And other Bitum's with the same 1,000 ' # and much lower M # 200's would...
So much for my :-X I just can't listen to myself when I need to :-[
Just as short note or two Carlo
I don't need lesson on reading data sheets and it is obvious you are looking at the numbers wrong or have an issues with reading specs.

You may have Dino's then again it may be Diatoms which at times can mimic cyano in appearance. Take some out and rub them between your fingers and see if feels gritty, if so Diatoms. Usually it is stated that a brownish slime like algae that is loaded with gas bubbles are Dino's but this...
I'm tired of it also so may you want to tell Carlo the same he is no differnet on this issue than I. I visit a number of forums, probably 4 hrs a day. I know you have more post for me to look at but I don't get much time here to get to them many of them due the the long rants of who said she...
Here Carlo let me leave you some space for you next carpet bombing, confusing, self promoting, I've done it all, know it all and misleading rant. I even signed it for, so just fill in the blank...
I'm not about to read through all you carpet bombing rants but do have a thing or two that popped out and will leave this thread as it is going nowhere. Just you rant of confusing and twisting things around.
1. You do not know Ron Litton and have never talked to him, it is a line of BS a mile...
[It's because of backflushing and regeneration which we don't do.
You need to get your facts straight there Carlo. Plants do not regenerate GAC every time it is back flushed. Back-flusing is not much different than us washing the carbon for a second run. YOU even used the same term If it takes...
