Clicked on my shortcut to Reef Central this morning while on the phone with my boss and almost laughed out loud. Took me by surprise and I was studdering while getting my thoughts back together. Check out the reef central header...pretty funny
Saw a dog with one of them in Cape may once. I stopped for traffic and caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye. I Couldn't believe what I saw so I turned around and watched the dog for a few minutes in amazement. The dog was having a blast!
I guess that explains the growth explosion when I raised my magnesium to fend of bryopsis! I guess I'll have to live with one green nuisance or the other. LOL. I have to do something to cut back the amount of gsp in my tank. My GSPs have taken over about half of the tank to the point where they...
Everybody always raves about the Icecap 660 ballasts. I would like to fit in with these people :). I have a maristar 48" fixture with 2-250Mh and 2-t5. Do the ballasts run any hotter than others? Would I be able to just take the current ballast out and attach the new ballast. I'm not really into...
Just curious how many of you have your tank in the same room as a fireplace, woodburning stove...etc. How close to your source of heat do you have it and how much of a temperature swing does it create?
In my new house if all goes well, I plan on having the tank (or tanks ;D) 20 feet away from...
I am still 50/50 on this decision. I posted over on Reef central also. If interested you can read it here: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1353849 I've read many great ideas that I will use to make my decision. I'm not looking to give the tank away, I am just nervous...
I went to one in the Poconos. It was awesome. You can bring your own or shoot theirs. They had a big selection of guns to shoot, From pistol to sniper weapons. Their targets were hanging items, stationary items and paper targets. A friend of mine brought my wife and I there and we had a blast...
MikeNapoli, I really like the Idea, never thought about that. If I had a more upscale house I would definitely do that, Can't see it in my cape cod house though. If I don't let the tank go with the house, It's coming with me!
reefsandrotts That was one of my thoughts. I left the tank there when...
I will be selling my house in the next three months. I want to put it on the market now, but I'm not sure what I should do about my tank. The tank is a 120 and is plumbed through the floor and I had the living room carpeted around it. What would you do? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has...
My sandbed is around 5-6 years old and is about 4" over the whole footprint of the 120(24" x 48")
I don't think it would be a wise decision to move it so I probably will not. I'm not sure if I am doing a big tank or 2 120's together or no tank at all, but I am leaning towards two 120's so my...
I've seen a lot of people moving tanks, whether moving or upgrading. I was thinking about setting up a new tank in my new house and transfer my current tank right into it on closing day figuring it would be easier, but then I realised that I would have to disturb my current sandbed or buy new...
I third to Ed's comment! My brother almost bought from them. They advertised a fixture that didn't even exist. They strung him along for weeks until they finally confessed to him that they built fixtures out of misc pieces by hand when they got around to it.
Thanks for the info guys. I will not be needing the tank until June if I do upgrade. In the meantime I will be kicking around many options. The one thing I would really like is a wider than 24" tank for what I'd like to do with it.
Ed thanks for the invite I may take you up on that offer when...
I will be moving in June so this will be the perfect time to upgrade. I will probably leave my 120 with the house and go 180. Then reading all of the thoughts about not being too much different than a 120 I started thinking that If I go to a six foot tank, I might as well go as wide and maybe...
How many of you are using well water for your reefs? I am sure it can be done. Are there any special things that need to be done or is using a RO/DI enough. I'll bet that well water would be hard on the filters and membrane on the RO/DI unit.
Please excuse me if this has ever been discussed...
Thank you for hosting us Renee. This was my first meeting The minute I stepped inside and took my shoes off I felt welcome! Your house is beautiful and the kids were great. It was really cool for them to entertain my son Tyler with the Wii and ping pong while I checked out all of your system...
I usually leave mine alone unless it really takes away from the piece...You are almost guaranteed to break off more than just what you went for which will include living pieces.

Thanks for the input guys. I waited too long to make up my mind so I didn't order them. I guess I'll order another time or buy locally.
Phyl, I actually was wondering about Sera. I was told one time that Sera was very big in the overseas market and he couldn't understand why they weren't here...
Rich you nailed that one...I was so excited to show off my corals when I first got into them and all my friend did was sit in front of my tank and watch the inverts. Man was I disgusted :-\
