I think the 6500 will be slightly more yellow then the 10K but depends on the 10K in question I think. It does have great par and you will get good growth with it. With 2 blue spectrum, 1 purple spectrum, and the Fiji which is red/purple I don't think the tank will be yellow at all.
Sounds good...now take your time adding things....you need to let the tank mature and build up your live rock so that the bacteria can handle the increased bio load.
Don't forget the problem algae can use up the nutrients in your system so when you test you won't see any problem. Blow your rocks off with a turkey baster if you don't do it when doing your water change. You don't have the sponge or bio balls in there still do you? I actually have an AP...
Well as far as the live rock goes I don't know exactly the problem...you have organics it seems creating ammonia ..I would guess it is in the rocks. Don't blow the sand around but if you have decomposing matter in the rocks it may look like sand ..sorta....when you baste the rocks. Keep water...
It could be that your rocks were not correctly cured or you had a major die off....get a RO/DI..will hate me now but thank me eventually.
