Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
is it gurgling because the elbow is sucking in air on the top? Can you show a pic of the top of your overflow?
if so then lowering the durso so the elbow remains below the water surface should help.
if you calculate the fact that the end price was $232, plus $39 shipping - it becomes a not-so-good bargain at all since our Group buys for a brand new fixture with PA come with 15% off and free shipping...
I was asking the same thing of my AWI rodi. Mikenapoli was kind enough to post these links:

or something like this...
beautiful.
Hey - are you having Wil hold the fish for you or are you skipping the QT? Just be warned - no matter how good the LFS (and AqOB is great) - you run the risk of introducing something not-so-nice if you skip the QT.
Obviously it's not so bad for you since this is a FOWLR - but just...
i would imagine if they are in the back corners aimed towards the center - it should produce a nice random flow - my only concern was that the overflow would be in the way - but it doesn't sound like it will.
mike you should update your tale of the tank with a video of your vortechs - I'm sure...
Good point Dave...A lot of books are written 5 maybe 10 years ago and then published and re-released with new editions.
Obviously a larger area would be preferable - the context of the remote DSB bucket was a cheap solution that could be easily set up (as well as dismantled) without messing...
The best placement would be in a box and mailed to my house for my tank. ;D
So - we are moving to vortechs now eh? wait a sec- what happened to the $$$ issue? :) :)
I would think positioned in the back corner aimed towards the front would be fine. Where are the overflows?
If he wrote the directions - then it already says it in the RSVP link:
...Make second left onto Marc Blvd. across from the Presbyterian Church.
From 287 South
...After going under 287, take your 3rd left onto Marc across from the Presbyterian Church.
btw - thanks for posting these as always...
sandee - sorry to hear - as a quick fix, couldn't you just take some "mature" water from your other tanks, and then temporarily place whatever you can save in that water? it may be high in nitrates (since your other tanks are fowlr, - fishcam 1,2) but it's better than water high in ammonia...
:)
That's a great read (the thread above). I also printed out that durso thing...I'm pretty much convinced I'll mess it up - but at least it'll still be cheaper than $200 for 2 aga megaflow kits. $200 is a lot of pvc and glue no?
Sorry if I'm bringing up an old(er) thread -
For Fish - I typically put in some PVC and let them hide and adjust to their new surroundings. Then (weeks later) I try not to scare the cr*p out of them when fishing them out to put into the display. This is the one part of QT'ing I dislike...
For...
...would it be ok to ask you what your "to-buy" list might be?
Sorry if I'm being nosy. I am (as always) curious about everyone's set up and why.
Oh - and are you QT'ing these fish (beautiful choices btw) before introducing? Not sure if I missed that earlier in the thread.
Thanks!
