I’ve received many remarkable nature photographs over the years but this photo of a nesting Falcon is perhaps the most remarkable Nature shot that I’ve ever seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Nature is truly breath-taking!
I've sent this to most of my older friends. The younger ones...
Jim, thanks for the offer, but I'm going to go the route Brian suggests. After reading the reviews on the BRS site, I've added one of these to my BRS shopping list. Really looks like this is the way to go:
Yes, I do, and I still get elevated TDS for the first few minutes after I shut this off. I think it's water that has permeated the membrane while sitting without pressure, and just needs to be flushed out on the "clean" side. The membrane flush kit flushes out the "dirty" side of the...
I'm looking to see what other people are using to bypass their DI unit on start-up for the first couple minutes. When I start my RO unit, the TDS is high (80 or so) for the first couple minutes. So what I've been doing to extend the DI is to manually pull out the tubing and flush the RO for...
Well no, it was bought after Bach and I colaborated on the Toccata and Fugue in the early 18 hundreds. Many think this toccata and fugue as an organ piece, but Bach and I first composed this as a paino piece. Bach worked on the fugue, while I focused on the toccata. HERE you can see me as a...
Edwin has said it....this is just the initial dose to adjust from 400 to 420....which is easiest to do manually. I personally have no problem with 400. But if you do want to adjust up to 420, I'd suggest dosing half that volume, and then testing. I've found these calculators to be...
Jim, I am shocked and saddened to see this, but can also fully understand. You are among a few whos advice and posts I would never question. Please stay connected, and when you are ready to get back in, I'm there for you with whatever I have in the tank. The one coral I know I have from...
First off, regardless of what room you put your tank in, it will raise humidity in the entire house. The worst room for me is the furthest from the tank....upstairs north-side bedroom....the coldest room in the house.
I too have a piano in the room next to the tank. I'll look when our...
If you have a probe set up properly with GFI or GFCI, it will do the trick. But I'm not a big proponent of GFI around our tanks as well. They trip when you least expect it....when you are away....and now your tank is not running at all....no heat or flow....dead tank!
I'm a "have to...
First off, I won't get a grounding probe....that only protects you and not your fish and tank. The tingle tells you that you have a problem. You wouldn't feel that if you had a grounding probe and the fish would just fry.
Start systematically unplugging stuff that is in you...
Jim, sorry for the loss on the biocube. :(
I wish I could figure out your success on Copperbands. I've tried two, and refuse to kill another fish. What is odd is that I have a cousin....long nose butterfly...and he's doing great.....actually a pig...eats everything.
Out with the Old, In with the New
Since going over to biopellets, the refugium is no longer needed. In fact, the Cheato that was there disappeared within a month, and the hair algae, that was longer then Fabio's hair, has almost completely disappeared as well. So the thought is to switch...
