Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Astounding based on the fact that its a 3rd party shipper.
On the first DOA I called immediately.
I was given the option of a credit for the $80 (fish was $80, shipping was free) or another delivery.
Chose the latter requesting the largest fish, a smaller box, and 2 heat packs.
There was no cost...
Figured I'd update this.
Number two was a loss as well.
Acclimated over a few hours due to temp differences (bag was 67, tank is 80).
Seemed to go OK but he didn't survive the night.
Contacted Live Aquaria, seems this is not an isolated problem in this weather, especially as shipping is from...
Theres a liquor store in Brick, in the parking area of the River Rock cafe, that just opened a small tap room. Haven't been there yet but may try this weekend. Will let you guys know.
Also, for those brewing that don't know of it (actually a gallon jar and an airlock and anyone can do this...
Round 2
Wednesday morning, UPS drops a box on my doorstep with no knock or bell ring.
Fortunately I heard the truck.
Same packaging as previous order, but 2 heat packs inside.
Same double bag, but again, its cold.
But this time we have an active and very curious mandarin (but again, very...
Hey all.
We're putting together a new NJRC flyer for handing out at events and I need a bit of help.
I'm looking for a few hi res photos of members tanks, priority going to the previous POTM winners but looking for anything anyone has that's colorful and represents the club well. Fish and...
Thats the same spot the previous tank was in, isn't it?
Totally different dynamic with the room.
Are you going to leave it as a 3 side exposed?
That would be phenomenal.
Ordered a Biota tank bred mandarin this week as well as some inverts.
Normal Mandarin $20-25, this guy $80 plus $15 shipping for Saturday delivery.
Raised on .5 micron food and frozen cyclo, so got the food ready (as well as some tisbe pods to seed fuge).
Boxes arrived Saturday. Bit overkill...
They're almost like tiny tube worms. They extend the stalks to feed. Had them in a coral heavy tank for years but they were never an issue. They'd always come out when i fed the corals.
Hallelujah!
Just be sure with the RO buddy that you push the tubes into the connectors tightly. You should feel a second sort of sliding before it fully sets, then gently pull a bit and place ring washer on.
I had a leak and the tube not being set correctly on set up was the cause.
No pic yet, paid for Saturday arrival.
Will run a thread on it from unboxing to all details of tank conditions and diet.
Excited to see an aqua-cultured offered.
Had a pistol shrimp and watchman combo in my big tanks.
They were fantastic, was incredible watching the interactions.
What wasn't great was the fact that they'd dig the Marinaras Trench in my tank every night while we could hear the shrimp announcing the construction by snapping (from the...
Noooo, not the Precious, nooo nasty little hobbitses try to take it
But, instead, one of these...
Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Blue Mandarin, Captive-Bred, Biota
Wanted one since I stated the hobby but would never subject one to my tanks for fear of starving them. The...
Sunny,
I have an hour appt at 10am and am expecting a fish shipment at some point.
When all is clear I'll drop you a text and if you need me I'll be there.
Mark
Sorry, haven't seen this.
Just a standard sprayer and tap water.
I have to start breaking some down, I'm feeding 30-50 worms a day and I cant control the population, now more worms than dirt. Critical mass atm.
Will start dumping these in the garden if folks aren't interested in picking any up...
