Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
People have been successful with it. If you are not a dose and test every day guy you can look at bio pellets which is essentially solid carbon dosing. The bigger question is have you tested nitrates and phosphates
You could probably get away with just one mp40 for the entire tank. You probably want to have it middle high so you don't disturb the sand bed and get the good gyro motion out of it.

The BOD and the group buy committee are going to be getting together shortly to setup the buy schedule for next year. We decided to throw this thread up and see what are members were interested in doing a buy this year and also recommend some stores/websites that you would like to see us go...

Have you tested for nitrates and/or phosphates at all? What does your water change schedule look like? What fish/inverts do you have in there and how often do you feed and what are you feeding?
Hair algae and cyano feed on nitrates and phosphates so what you want to do is find out the sourece...
