Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
That sounds like a very smart someone. ;)
Have you tested the mag yet? Based on you noting a change in coralline growth/appearance, I would look into that. Coralline can be a big consumer of magnesium.
Have you tested the new saltwater as you said? If your batch of salt is out of balance it...
Looks like I missed out on something "Good" by leaving early Saturday night. :o
Awesome rock Marc, when I finally get my big tank, I know how I'm going to fill it!
I've run my 55gallon softie tank with an AquaC Remora skimmer and a Fluval Canister filter for over 2 years with an average amount of not very porous rock and a 4-5" sandbed. I also have a small HOB fuge, but not much going on in there.
If the tank is already up and you like the cosmetics, go...
I guess the worst thing that could happen is it would get tangled in the needle wheel, which it already is! ;D
Seriously, it's been in place for several months now and doing fine. RC had a pretty big thread on modding Coralife Skimmers. This mod was the least destructive. Most folks like to...
Hey Matt,
Don't do too much, too fast.
Do a 25% water change and test again the next day. Verify the nitrates with another kit. As Mike suggested.
Start trimming the cheato as Mladen described.
Try adding filter socks as Carlo suggested and see where this gets you.
How often do you do water...
Get the skimmer and wait.
Come and look at my 75 nano and you will feel better about the 120. Also you will see corals that took longer than 4 months to get to the size and condition they are now.
Patience young Jedi! ;)

Hey Greg,
I have 2 VHO only display tanks.
One is a 75 gallon LPS dominated tank and I run 3 UV 50/50 bulbs and 2 UV Super Actinics for a total of 550 watts.
The other tank is a 55 gallon Softie dominated tank and that has 2 UV 50/50 bulbs and 2 UV Super Actinics for a total of 440 watts...
Thanks again everyone!
Turns out i have access to Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I used that for my recent posts about my tanks.
I'll give the freebies a try next go round.
Thanks to all who replied. :)
