    Mp40s are loud

Yes, definitely want that little piece of rubber.

    Mp40s are loud

One other thought....do you have that thin rubber gasket between the dryside and the glass?

    Mp40s are loud

Are these new or used? The first thing I'd try is setting the thickness to 1/2 inch. It pulls the dry side back a touch more and therefore puts less strain of the lateral pull on the bearings. These bearing were not designed for lateral stress. The next thing is aligning them to the...

    $1 gallon sale petsmart

Don't believe everything you read. The 40B I had had a label that said "Do Not Drill Glass." I did the tempered glass test with a white computer screen and pair of polarized sunglasses and found that only the bottom glass was tempered. The sides were not tempered. I drilled the...

    Sump question

I originally used a Rubbermaid container for mixing saltwater. As Paul said, don't fill too high because the sides will bulge out. If it's just temporary, you'll be fine. What caused me to go to a Brute for making saltwater was when one of these Rubbermaid tubs that I had for maybe five...

    Jersey Devil Chalice frag

The thread is gone! I didn't see it, but am guessing it was a "for sale" thread for a chalice that the seller was claiming was Jersey Devil. I'm now also guessing that one of the interested parties notified R2R of copyright infringement and that is why it was pulled. Again, this is all...

Source of p04? Could it come from the water bottles??

Phosphate is not coming from the five gallon water jug. Most (if not all) water jugs are made of polycarbonate...that will not leach phosphate. Now BPA is another story. :o

    Baking Alkalinity Solution

I cannot say with 100% assurance, but the likelihood is that this Vaprorizer is just fine. To the best of the knowledge there is one US producer of calcium chloride (and the world's largest producer I believe) and that is Occidental (also known as OXY or OxyChem). This information matches...

    Baking Alkalinity Solution

Whew! All is well in Calcium Chloride Land! I am confident the "new" Prestone Driveway Heat is the same Driveway Heat I've been using since 2008 or 9. I will provide detail. I was at first bothered by the product discription the Driveway Heat link above provided....mentioning other stuff...

    Baking Alkalinity Solution

No. There will be some water associated with the calcium chloride and a pinch of "extraneous" stuff. I'm looking up MSDS's right now........I'll be back momentarily.

    Baking Alkalinity Solution

Well I'm a little concerned. The name is right...Prestone Driveway Heat......but the description is wrong. It says that this contains calcium chloride, potassium chloride, water, sodium and calcium bromide. That is NOT what is says on the bag of Driveway Heat I purchased......it just says...

What to use vortech mp40 or 2 mp 10s

If you're sold on Vortech, I'd go with one MP40 over two MP10's. I would think the MP10's would have to be run close to wide open, and I believe this causes them to eat their bearing that much quicker. The MP40 will be cranked back a bit and save the bearings. If you do end up with some...

    Tank divider

I've actually found pictures of the divider in the tank. It simply friction fit into place. And to cover up the pipe, I took a piece of latice and stained and varnished it to match the canopy and stand. It was stuck to the glass with sticky-tack.

    Tank divider

Here are some pictures to show detail. If you are up in the area, this thing is yours if you want it. I believe the cross pieces are not glued, so they could easily be cut down. I also had to used two of those screen things and ran a thread in-and-out of the matched screens to hold it...
