Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I haven't checked on them recently, but Aquatraders use to be real BAD news!
I had a lot of problems with them with a T5 strip that I wound up eating the cost on.
I would stay away from them.
Hey Greg, welcome!
Hang around and I'm sure you'll find plenty of tanks to upgrade to in the for sale or trade forum if you want to start spending money again! ;D
Here are Anthony Calfo's thoughts.
He favors a longer thinner slice of surface water flowing into the overflow to maximize the amount of surface proteins skimmed.
Nice rock and great aquascaping!
Did you just stack or is it supported or fastened in any way?
I've been avoiding the nan forum as I want to take my minibow down. Right now it's a rock-less frag tank. The electric bill is getting out of hand and I'm trying to eliminate all my "extra" little...
The Sutter brothers always made the Hanson brothers look tame!
Not my favorite people, but then again, I really shouldn't be posting in this thread! ;D
Really, I read something by him way back and remember I felt like I was playing D&D. I seem to remeber lots of references to hit points of damage and other game specific terms.
I'll have to give it a try, although I'm more of a high elf type.
BTW, anyone out there ever play Warhammer? I always...
I'm with you on this one! Good live rock always has something alive on it. And when it hits the air for handling and shipping, that stuff is going to start dying off.
You've mentioned the rock was nice, got any pictures??
In deference to the rock vendor, this is no different than the ammonia that results from incompletely cycled rock.
For those who may have gotten the impression that this was Pacific East's fault from the earlier posts, I think it's fair to point out that dying sponges are something that needs...
I'm sorry it's over as well! ::)
I need a new series to read. I'm a big Tolkien fan, but I've read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy about a dozen times.
Any suggestions? I'm thinking about the Narnia Chronicles.
For those of us who are done, maybe we can get a password protected thread just for...
Alk is measured in several ways. 3.2 should be 3.2 meq/l which equals 8.96 dkh or 160ppm.
Took a bit of serching in RC for the conversion; 1 meq/l = 50ppm = 2.8 dKh
I think we commoners agree with you Carlo as long as the tank is large enough, there is enough rock for grazing and hiding, and the fish are introduced together.
The more you stray from those conditions, the less likely you are to be successful. Although success is always a possibility.
I didn't want it to end either, but I couldn't help myself!
My son will probably finish it during the overnight, so I'll have someone to discuss it with tomorrow! ;D
So we tested the RO/DI and got .05, and we tested the mixed saltwater and got .19.
Between these 2 points the possible inputs are the salt mix, leaching from the container, or contaminants from the air or items used in the mixing process.
A simple test was suggested a while back to take the...
