Sounds like a bad bulb. Who did you get it from? I say call them. Stupid question but are you trying to fire a hot bulb. U normally have to wait for the bulb and ballest to cool down before they will work.

the uv rays are nothing to mess with I would replace the glass. I bleached a bunch of corals with no glass. I had Prem Aqutics send me a new glass for a sunlight supply hqi. it was like 30 shipped.

Welcome to NJ Reefers club Chris. That sounds like a great Idea. I'd be down for a road trip. We do get a mini tour of peoples tanks at our monthly meetings. But a tour of peoples houses might kind of fun too.

Phylis gave me a good suggestion to connect the Auto Top off to the Aqua Controller and it only comes on for 5 mins twice a day. That is a good way to prevent an over flow.

I think I need to sell alot of frags to make the money back that I spent. Got alot of nice new zoas. Worth the trip. Will be back. I wish I could open a place like that one day.
