Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I would suggest investing in a good book I think you have received a suggestion on two on titles.
OK well get the check in the mail mate time is a wasting.
You need to keep your skimmer cleaned out. You should set up a regular maintance schedule.
If you have paypal you can get your membership today. Could be advantageous ;).
I would say no to sand sifting starfish your tank is not really big enough or established enough.
Lets see the fish that you choose. Pic Please :)
Your fish options are narrowing down due to the size of the tank...
Nope that is a great price. :D..BTW since you are a member we have some great group buys (for lights for example) and hope you can make it to the frag swap. I saw TB Aquatics post that they will bring some critters up for the swap at pretty good prices FYI.
The books are great ideas. Your lights are fine for now. Don't throw much more money into them though. Sorry I posted on your other link too about the skimmer. I will give my thoughts quick on the lights. Eventually you will probably want to replace the lights with T5 or MH. T5 are the less...
Good pics...just a suggestion I think that someone here has a hang on skimmer for sale. You might look into replacing one or both of the bio wheels eventually with a skimmer. You got your first coral too where did you the rock nice sized piece.
Did you ask Will if he doesn't have them I would think he would be able to order them?
T5s are not bad with heat but the compact florescent ones are terrible. I was refering to Mott's used lights if you really wanted to go cheap for a while. But I suppose if Sundial comes with the bulbs it is...
You could also try Mott and see if he still has the CP they would be enough for softies...and during the next 8 months you won't have to worry about heat. If after that you want to change your mind you can. Ironically that is about how long the bulbs will last. Sort of a lease program.
Is this...
Nice you got your tank! ;D
Man the trials and tribulations of the sump/skimmer/return pump. I don't suppose you have a basement under there or garage right behind there? I question the sump under my tank. Placing it out of the way basement/garage is a nice option. Of course you don't get to...
I just wanted to post an article I found.

I have my QT tank set up and ready to go.
We are still kicking around what fish we want to get. My wife really likes the Naso Tang. I am bit uncertain of the compatibility with the Hippo.
I would say our list...
Well neither one is really expensive ... but maybe you could build your own. I don't know how handy you but it might be cheaper. You owe us some new pictures. Can you give a full tank shot...from the distance so as to see the whole picture?
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
I am super happy with everything but the air in the drains. The "eggs" are the little spots that look like dirt on the glass mostly 1/3 of the way up on the left hand side. I just never saw anything like it.
Oh and I don't like those turbo...
I have them and I just posted pics today with the lights. For the price (bulbs included) you cannot beat them. The Tek lights are nice but doesn't include the bulbs (8*20 bucks) and no moonlights. CurrentUSA makes some 8X54 fixtures too depends on the look you want.
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
Hello wanted to give an update as it has been a couple weeks.
First...I still have a lot of air in my drain lines. I tried to straightening hoses and adding some extra holes in the top but still I have a lot of air siphoning in. I did get rid of...
