Great!! I have read your post and your tank is one of big tanks for sure, very nicely done. How about just giving us the structure or bones of the system. Is it exactly what you wanted?
We all have tanks here obviously, but how many of us got to start from scratch? I figure we all have grown into our tanks or started the hobby with a lot less information then we have now. So my question is if you got a clean slate starting now with all you have know what would your tank setup...
I tend to let the fund managers manage my money. I will occasionally pick a stock that I think stands a good chance of rebounding. I do move my money around though from one asset class to another. At the moment I don't really like stocks. Though with the Fed cutting so much historically the...
So my tale has had a few changes.
One I took out the gorgonian. I tried very hard to keep it but something went wrong. I tried to feed it, clean it and so on but I failed it.
Second I went to AO and got some peppermint shrimp (it is debatable if this is a good, idea my pseudocromis is a...
I would use feng shui on second thought, your tank is sorta long so maybe a pair of firefishes?
Of course clown fish will earn you points with wives, girlfriends, and kids.
You have done a really great job keep it up.
If you want a nasty bully bicolor pseudocromis I have one ;).
I fear he ate...
Thanks for the update. I know Tropiquarium gave me a free fan when mine was making too much noise, standard price is about 12 bucks. On another note you can get some replacement fans that should be quieter on some of the Nano sales sites.
You should get a couple nice schooling fish that will swim on the upper part of the tank like a couple cardinals or something. You have done a nice job filling in what structure you have, it is different but it grows on you. ;)
Welcome aboard the 24G AP train. What other tanks do you have? Don't tease us with half information like that ;). Everything looks great, where did you get the other rock? Are the corals from your other tank.
Yep I have done some of that. I removed all the stock crap in the back put in live rock at the bottom, closed all but the top overflow to surface skim better, put floss in the front half and with eggcrate created a split in the chamber with macro in the back...with LED bar. It has worked well...
I have considered a couple different mods including some DIY stuff. Even going with LED lights just keep heat down. I honestly have done OK with LPS and softies so not sure I really see the need at this point.
I am not sure SPS is in the cards for me for this tank at least so thinking to just...
Don't think it works the way you are suggesting.
If you have a bulb that gives off a wavelength of 20K and a bulb that gives off 10K you don't average them.
They would both continue to give off their individual wavelengh but you would have both wavelenghts hitting your tank. So the 20K would...
Great new corals.
You are still lucky with your anemone. I put mine in what I thought would be the perfect place he proceeded to tour the tank till he settled down with his A$$ in my face. I understand you are not supposed to move them so since he is happy I leave him alone.
Heaters are like opionions everyone has one and they are all different.
I think the days of duel heaters are bit past. First most heaters now break in the off position. If you notice your temp going lower you will usually be able to run to Walmart for a replacement(not saying you should shop at...
Small more frequent water changes are better.
I coppied the below piece from Mynd's tale in the nano section. Don't know if it is true but for sure everything I have read the more frequent the water changes the better. Better to do 10% a week then 20% a month. Go do your water change and quiet...
